AI Statement

At PitchWhite Productions, we value humanity, creativity, imagination, and authenticity. For this reason alone, we do not condone the use of AI in our environment. This includes the writing of scripts, production design, social media material, publicity, our website, and more. Artists that are invited to work for PitchWhite including playwright, directorial, cast or crew, or administrative positions are told to avoid the use of Artificial Intelligence where possible.

Our stance on other production companies using AI is that they are entitled to use the tool as they wish and it is their prerogative to create things in whichever medium they desire. We do not respect or endorse boycotting or public shaming for those who do choose to use AI in their company. However, we don’t celebrate or support elements of these productions that are created with AI, especially those that are passed off as human made.

Artificial Intelligence is a wonderful tool with many capabilities and functions. It will serve humanity in the science industry, finance, IT, and will create discoveries and advancements that would otherwise take millennia. It’s place is not the arts, and in order to protect the arts industry whether it’s theatre, film, or any other art form, we must maintain altruism.
